Relationship Retreat Spirit Quest Costa Rica February 2006.

"I went on the couple's retreat with two intentions. The first was to take my relationship with my girlfriend Shari to a new level, put the relationship through its paces, and explore the possibility of getting married. The second was to know and experience the rain forest as the numinous and sacred expression of life on earth that I knew it to be.

With those intentions in mind, three things stood out for me regarding the retreat. First is that the two intentions were fulfilled in the very same unforgettable moments when Shari and I set off on our own into the rain forest, following the line established by a vigorous, tumbling stream, so pristine in beauty, pure enough to drink, to a series of deep pools, beneath waterfalls, to an experience of spiritual communion with Shari and nature. Second was the experience of being with great, like-minded people, of a gradual coming together, of learning about more authentic ways to live and cook. Third was the experience of encountering fantastic expressions of life: white hawks, cutter ants, lizards, frogs, fantastic and majestic trees, howler monkeys, etc.

Gerry and Sabrina have really set aside a piece of paradise. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Before our trip to Costa Rica we were both questioning getting married, we were a little more on the way out of the relationship than in.
